Among seniors, falling represents a major cause of loss of autonomy, particularly because it reduces mobility and promotes social isolation . Following a fall, it is very common for a person to be afraid of falling again even if they are physically able to walk.
No, we have therefore created a therapeutic protocol in virtual reality which helps reduce post-traumatic stress linked to falls.
The objective is to restore confidence and extend the autonomy of seniors.
At Teleport IN, our ambition is to support our seniors by meeting their moral and psychological needs in order to extend their autonomy at home. Thanks to our partner KLESIA, we will be able to deploy 50 virtual reality headsets, equipped with our therapeutic protocol, within SSAD and SSIAD.
The EMOCHUTE therapeutic protocol was designed by Dr Mauraine Carlier, Scientific Director at Teleport IN.
It benefits from a technical innovation specific to virtual reality which allows us to immerse our brain in an experience which frees it from all conditioning and gives it access to new modes of reaction.
Also, its innovative scientific approach lies in a unique combination of non-drug therapeutic approaches in the world.
A pre-clinical study was carried out on around forty people with the partnership of CH Emile Roux du Puy-en-Velay. Thanks to our protocol, the fear of falling has significantly decreased by up to 27% .
The results were validated by the FES-I scientific questionnaire on people aged 82 on average with a score of 32.
We are continuing to study this protocol in order to broaden the results and evolve our approach according to the needs of seniors.
